State Line Jay

Content Creator - Music Critic - Writer - Web Designer

Jay, better known as State Line Jay is a creative and artist consultant that loves Hip-Hop.  From Inglewood, CA and currently residing in Las Vegas, Jay spends a lot of time traveling between the two cities to make his creations come to life. Thus, the "State Line" nickname. Whether he's producing or shooting content, attending concerts, studio sessions, or interviewing artists, Jay is always bringing something to the table. In 2016, he created his first show, Hot 16: The #1 Hip Hop Podcast. On this show he hosts and produces all of the content that includes discussing some of the biggest headlines in Hip Hop. From there, Jay realized his passion for creating content for the culture.

After receiving word that he would be interning and working with media personality Marisa Mendez, and producer Mike Zombie, in Los Angeles, Jay put the podcast on a brief hold so he could relocate and grow his network. His experiences last summer led him to want to expand his brand within the culture and begin shooting his own video content and provide more outlets for hip hop artists and fans to appreciate.

He’s recently launched his Youtube Channel in which you can see all of his current and upcoming work. Most recently he developed a site by the name of UEverHeardOf, a spin off from the most popular segment of his podcast. Its goal, is to introduce fans to artists they may not know they need to know. Amongst his friends, Jay is appreciated for his passion for music and his feel for what is and isn’t a good song. One look at his Instagram, and his passion for the culture is evident. On there he encourages followers to engage in conversation about past and current albums that played a part in their growth with the use of the #HipHopMadeMe.

He makes great original playlists and encourages followers to follow him on Apple music as well to find out for themselves. Amongst artists, he’s a known as a great critic and interviewer as his line of questioning really focuses on the music and art itself rather than the salacious and often meaningless topics many media persons like to focus on. For Jay, music and the artists themselves always come first. Interested in receiving a monthly playlist form Jay? click HERE.
